Many of our members have come to realize that working out at TBS has indeed empowered them to be more active outside the walls of TBS as well. With that in mind, we have breached the walls of The Body Shoppe and brought our members on hikes, snowshoe events, long distance and overnight bike rides, cross country skiing, running events and more. Click on any of the links on the menu bar to the left and find what you're interested in. Non-members are also welcome to join us, usually for a nominal fee.
We are getting ready for our annual trek to the Swiss Farm Inn on August 15th, in Pittsfield, Vt. This is a "can't be missed Body Shoppe bike ride, weekend away event that has proven to be ever so popular among many of our fellow cyclists. For those of you that haven't been involved in this ride, I'll try to give you an idea of what's involved.

Hike the Quabbin with TBS. This will be an enjoyable journey thru the past as we explore some of the old roads at the Quabbin. Join us if you can. Sign up at the front desk!
Things to know before you go
The primary purpose of Quabbin DCR water and surrounding lands is drinking water supply. Public access, therefore, is carefully regulated and controlled to protect over 2 million people’s source of drinking water. State regulations require all entry and exit through gates or other designated areas only. Anything that could pollute the water supply system, such as litter or refuse of any sort, is prohibited. Please observe restrictions on recreational activities. Direct water contact activities, such as swimming and wading, are strictly prohibited by regulation. Dogs are not allowed on any DCR property associated with Quabbin Reservoir.
We will be leaving TBS (carpooling as much as possible), at 9:30AM. We will be traveling on Route 2 and meeting our hike leader, Jack Rice, at the municiple parking lot on your right as you travel down the hill into Erving Center. From there, we will continue east on Route 2, taking the Lake Mattawa exit to Holtshire Rd which will bring us to Route 202. Left on Route 202 and then right on Route 122 will eventually bring us to an intersection with Route 32A in the area of Petersham. A right on 32A will bring us to Gate 40 and the start of our hike. Our route will be along the yellow line shown below, from Gate 40 to Dana Center. The names shown on the map are names of the past owners of some of house foundations that we will be passing.
